KJ studied mathematics at the University of Utah before completing her Ph.D. in Biostatistics (Statistical Genetics) at USC. Her primary research interest is in building statistical models to understand the interplay of genetic and environmental factors in disease etiology using various types of genetic data. Outside of lab, she is a huge animal lover and spends her time caring for her five pets.
