Lora Iliev-Bird received her B.A. in Anthropology and B.S. in Biology from the University of California, Santa Cruz. She is currently a PhD student in Dr. Spellman’s lab and affiliated with the Genetics and Genomics department at UCLA. She is working on understanding cancer risk within different genetic ancestries as well as developing methods to bridge current health disparities in cancer research. In her spare time she loves crying to Tarkovsky films as well as biking along the coast with her husband and two dogs!
