Maya studied Chemical Biology at the University of Berkeley before completing her PhD in Biophysics in the Chemistry Department at UCLA. She is working on understanding the links between environmental exposures and lung cancer in non-smoking populations by mapping the evolution of tumorigenesis. She enjoys baking, gardening, and spending time with her family.
